As part of the "Bundeswehr Day", the longest-serving flying unit of the German Air Force celebrates its 60th anniversary. At Penzing Air Base, however, there is not only joy about the more than 50,000 visitors on this sunny day. The dissolution of Air Transport Squadron 61 and closure of the military airfield is imminent at the end of 2017.
Before the time comes, however, the German Armed Forces bid farewell to the population and also to the Transall C-160 transport aircraft, which has been in service with the German Air Force since 1968, with an open day.
