The ILA 2000 took place from 6 to 12 June. The undisputed and heavily guarded star of this year's event was probably the Lockheed F-117A Nighthawk fighter-bomber. This aircraft has so-called "stealth" capabilities due to its unusual shape and a special coating on the outer skin; i.e. the aircraft's radar echo is minimised and it is therefore difficult to locate (stealth aircraft). In addition, for the first time since the Ramstein disaster in 1988, the appearance of a military aerobatic team was permitted. The Alpha Jets of the "Patrouille de France" showed a very limited programme at the ILA 2000. Here are a few pictures:
